✿ ABOUT...

Qui Yue is one that prefers to blend into the background than stand out amongst a crowd. Due to her timid nature, she rarely initiates conversations and may stutter and stumble over her own words. Although she is not much of a talker, her open-mindedness makes her a great listener and friend. An altruistic individual, the girl is never the one to refuse a call for help. Yet, what's unfortunate is that she can't refuse things in general. Her idealistic outlook upon life only allows her to see the good in people. This is what usually drives her to socialize and find compassion for others. While her rose-coloured views can be her strength, it is also her downfall - her gullible trait leads her to be too trusting and become easily manipulated. Considering this and her obedient character, she finds it hard to say 'no' - things like pamphlets, assignments, and chores are always passed off into the girl's tentative hands. However, Qui Yue never complains and works diligently to finish her duties. The introvert has a peaceful disposition and absolutely hates confrontation, rather avoiding it wholly when possible. With a heart made of glass, the girl is easily hurt by critics and those alike. As a result, she rarely talks about things pertained to herself and takes secrets to her grave.

Biography:
The Ruan family had a hard time while Qui Yue's mother was pregnant. They were going through some financial difficulties while living in the bustling city of Taipei. Not to mention that they were an older couple, stress took a toll on her health and her father got very worried. Her mother's younger sister immediately reached out to their family and suggested them to leave their busy, capital life for a smaller, cosy town.
Getting away from the constant need for paychecks was a blessing towards the Ruan family. They set themselves up across their relatives in the quiet neighborhood and waited for the arrival of their newborn. Their daughter was born frail and premature, and it caused heartaches for her parents to watch her through the incubator. Despite many complications in their early lives, the Ruan family paved their way to happiness.
  Through their hard-earned money and savings from their previous lives, her dad fixed up a worn-down bookstore in town and started his small business once more. Her mother had been in the fashion industry while in the city and she, as before, wanted to earn some money for their family. A modest tailoring shop caught her eyes while in town and her sister helped her make connections with the owner. Her timing couldn't have been more perfect; the elder had wanted to retire and was planning to sell it. The gray-haired woman saw the passion in her mother's eyes and sold it to her without hesitation.
  Ruan's Tailoring. It wasn't much but her mother loved it with all her heart. As Qui Yue grew, her mother began to teach her how to sew: the different types of stitching, what fabrics to use when making certain clothing, what colours paired well and etc.. However, her mother felt something was off when her daughter wouldn't stop bleeding after pricking herself with a needle. She took her to a hospital and found her complications during her pregnancy had affected her child: Qui Yue had the Type 1 von Willebrand disease - a bleeding disorder that was caused by a deficiency of a protein that helped blood to clot. Thankfully, the doctor told them that she would likely experience mild bleeding problems and would still be able to live a normal life. She was prescribed DDAVP tablets and a topical treatment of thrombin.
Her parents became very protective of her after her diagnosis, rarely letting her go out without their escort or her cousins. Due to being sheltered for most of her childhood, she spent her time sewing (against her mother's wishes) and playing only with her cousins. She didn't grow to have childhood friends nor knew how to interact with people outside her family.

  She has stuck to her cousin, Ying Ya, through elementary, through middle school and now, even attends the same, local high school. Her cousin constantly reminds her that she needs to make some friends and albeit being awfully shy, he motivates her to go out of her bubble and say hello.

She has Type 1 von Willebrand disease - a bleeding disorder that is caused by a deficiency of von Willebrand factor (VWF), a protein that helps blood to clot. It's different from hemophilia. Fortunately, her condition is on the milder side and can be treated with medication.
She carries her band-aids and prescription with her at all times.
She has a budgie named Wei Liang that accompanies her around her house - It was given to her on her 14th birthday by none other than Ying Ya, because ~~_{she wouldn't leave his alone}~~ he knew how passionate she was with birds.

She has full-on conversations with Wei Liang and sings to her all the time. Her cousins even find it strange and they grew up together.
Wei Liang demands to be treated like a queen. She can be very bossy at times and picky with her food but Qui Yue puts up with it all. It's also one of the reasons why she likes to return home right away afters classes end.

She has a strong attachment to her cousins; her neighbors call them the inseparable trio.
She works very hard to achieve good grades.
She has a sweet, singing voice but gets super embarrassed when asked to sing in public.
She visits the temples with her aunt and cousin often to pray.
She doesn't talk much but when the subject of birds arises, she gets really excited and talks more comfortably to others.
She helps out at her mother's tailoring shop. If she isn't there, she's usually at her father's bookstore reading the newest romance novella.
Due to her fragile body and uncommon condition, she has a horrible affinity for sports. She can't kick or throw to save her life.

Her mother did enroll her into ballet classes when she was a child. She found out that the only thing she's got is flexibility.

Her wardrobe is all picked out by her aunt and mother. It mostly consists of cute, girly clothing and dresses her mom made.
She's very feminine and modest. She gets flustered easily by bold actions and shameless people.
She's been blessed with clear, baby skin and strangely, has zero interest in makeup.

Kao, Ying Ya - Her older cousin on her mother's side. She follows him almost everywhere. She takes offense personally if you insult him.
